iPhone or babysitter??

First off I just have to say my husband is crazy, but I love him! Yesterday we were all getting ready to go out to eat. Steve was taking a shower and I was blowing my hair dry. I got done and went into the bedroom and this is what I found. If you can't see by the picture, he had propped up his iPhone on a pillow and put Emily on her back so she could watch a movie. He came out of the bathroom and I said, what is this?...he said, she's watching Transformers. Oh, of course I should have known that, right!! She was really into it and kept her occupied the whole time we were getting dressed. I never knew the iPhone had so many uses!

Oh, yeah and we went to eat at Mellow Mushroom in Fayetteville. My sister had raved about this pizza place and now I know why. It was awesome and I can't wait to go back!

Meeting My Big Sister!

Steve's 16 year old daughter Ashley (man, I can't believe she is that old...she was 4 when Steve and I first started dating.) came down for Thanksgiving and to meet her little sister. They are so cute together, it almost made me cry. Emily loves Ashley and I'm pretty sure the feeling is mutual. You can judge that by the pictures. Ashley even got to babysit Em on Wednesday and Friday afternoons while Steve and I were at work. She has a lot of experience (probably more than I have) since her mom owns a daycare.

My First Turkey Day!

We have so much to be thankful for this year! Last Saturday we had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner (thanks to Holly) with both of our families at our house. Then on Thanksgiving Day, Steve, Ashley, Em and I went to Steve's grandma's in the big town of Pettigrew! This was every one's (except for Aunt Dory) first time to see Miss Em. She had a great time and everyone ohhh'd and ahhh'd over her. Here are some pictures of her in the turkey onesie Aunt Holly got her.
*Today you laughed out loud for the 1st time!*

108th percentile??

Are you kidding me? We took Emily for her 2 month checkup (and shots) :( today. Here are her stats:

Weight 12lbs 13 oz (108th percentile, didn't know this was possible, but he said she was off the charts)
Height 24" (95th percentile)
Head Circumference (50th percentile)

As we were talking to the doctor today, he was showing us the growth chart for Emily. I said, so what percentile is she in? He said, oh about 108th (I don't think he was going to tell me unless I asked). I looked at Steve and just started laughing, because we had just talked to him about her getting enough breast milk since I've gone back to work. He said she wasn't missing any meals! :) While on the way to the doctor I was on the phone with my sister and we guessed she was in maybe the 80th. We were way off!! She is a healthy big baby girl and we are very happy about that!

Emily's likes:
Bath time
Being swaddled when she sleeps
Chewing and sucking on her fingers (while drooling)...it's a new thing this week
Standing up in your lap
Her bouncy seat and swing
Lights...she loves to stare at them
Smiling and laughing
Being a wiggle worm (she's always moving if she is awake...just like she was in my belly!)

Emily's dislikes (there aren't many):
Bows and headbands (she'll learn to like them one way or another!!)
Getting in the carseat (she has to stop moving)

She's wearing 3-6 months clothes and a size 2 diaper.

Photo Shoot Gone Wrong...

So, last Sunday before we had our family pictures I decided to do a photo shoot with Em. I took 2 pillows from the chairs in the living room, put them on the kitchen floor in front of back door with a blanket over them, took off Em's clothes (and diaper) and started shooting! She made a funny face, the one she makes when she is "making a present". I was like ohhhh nooo not on the pillows, but nothing ever happened. At least that's what I thought! I was done taking pictures, I picked her up and she had peed all over the blanket and pillows. The joys of parenthood! But, I love it!
