Has said the dreaded word...Dada (just kidding)! Everyone keeps telling me that it's easier for them to make a "da" sound than it is to make a "ma" sound. We were driving back from Miss Julie's on Friday (4/24/09) and she was in the back just talking to herself and then said Dada. I looked back and said, what did you say? She just looked at me and said, Dada Dada Dada Dada!! Her Dada is the best Dada, so I'll allow her to say it, but her next word better be Mama!
She's been trying to crawl for a while now, and getting better and better each day. Watch how she gets side tracked by the flowers on the quilt. I think that's so funny!
After shopping half the day and buying 3 dresses for Emily at TJ Maxx, we were almost ready for church on Sunday. Now, your asking why did I buy 3 dresses. Well, it's not like you can take a 7 month old in the dressing room and try them on. I guess you could, but Emily doesn't like for her clothes to be put on in the morning, so you can imagine what she would have done if I would have tried all 3 dress on her at the store. So, I brought them home and was a little worried because all they had were 12 months in everything. We started trying them on and they all fit! I was so surprised. It's like she grew over night! Since, that 12 month fit I decided to try on the cutest Burberry dress our cousin Melanie bought her. Of course, it fit and I had been stressed out about finding a dress for nothing...it was in her closet!! We went to church at the church I grew up in, Lowell Baptist Church. It was so good to see some old friends I hadn't seen in forever. We kept Emily in big church and she did good for the most part. She had a couple of loud out bursts, not crying, just yelling!
I can't believe Emily is 7 months old. She got her first tooth on April 10th. It's so bittersweet! Steve is in there trying to get a picture of it now. She'll smile and then stick her tongue out, so we can't see it! She is a little stinker!!
I've been extremely busy with work lately. But, this is better late than never, right?!
We all (Steve, Emily, Holly, Mike and I) went to St. Thomas, USVI to see my Dad and Linda. I got a little nervous a couple of days before, just because I didn't know how she was going to react on the plane. She did great and smiled and made friends with everyone. We missed our flight from Dallas to Tampa because she had a dirty diaper and I had to change it. Oh well, it turned out we got and even better flight. Thanks to a lady at American Airlines who had sympathy for a Mommy that was traveling with a baby for 14 hrs!!!! Emily did great on the boat! She loved the wind in her face. We had a great time and it was hard to come back to reality! Here are a few pics we took. Of course, I can't post them all I have way too many!
Emily's first time on a boat!
Emily's first time at the beach!
We went to the Sugar Mill Ruins on St. John
Steve, Holly, Linda and Dad went diving...
...and came back with this! Emily wanted to touch it so bad!
On our last day there we went to Honeymoon Beach (where Holly & Mike got married) and took some good shots...mostly of Emily!
