Christmas in February?

I got a package in the mail today...I opened it knowing what it was and knowing that Steve would say something about it. He didn't say what I though he would say, but of course he said something! It was 3 stockings with our names embroidered on them, 2 Christmas shirts for Emily (one says "got presents?" and the other says "little miss christmas"), and a tutu. He was like why would you buy Christmas stuff when it's almost a year away. That is such a guy thing to say!! All of us girls know that we buy it now because it's on sale!! All the items were originally $38.00 each and I got them for $8.99 and $9.99. I ordered them online from this cute little children's boutique in Roswell, GA (where my sister lives). I went in the store when I was pregnant and loved all of their stuff. They are having a great sale!

St. Thomas Here We Come!!

Wooo hooo! I got our tickets today to go see my Dad and Linda. Holly and Mike will be going too. We leave on March 31st (ahhh...the day Steve and I got engaged, just realized that when I typed it. It will be 5 years! WOW). They are all so excited to see Emily! I had to pull out her swimsuits to see if any of them fit. She has 5 (how ridiculous is that), so we had a pretty good selection. Two fit and here she is posing in one of them! I swear when I pull out the camera she just cheeses it up! I don't know where she got that! heee hee! :)

No Teeth Yet...

Emily has to be getting a tooth soon! I was on the phone and I put her on her activity mat. She was quiet for a minute, so I went back in the living room and this is what I found. She was chewing on the fringe on the bottom of the chair. NICE!! She was also really cranky (very unlike her) today, so I'm hoping they come in sooner than later!

New Stroller...

When we were in Des Moines we went to Babies R Us. I got Emily some really cute clothes and a new stroller. I love the big stroller I have, but it barely fits in my trunk and it's so heavy! It's good for going to an inside mall where you might have numerous bags from different stores, but not good to go into a store like TJ Maxx. I think she likes it...yes I was strolling her around the house in it!! :)

I'm hoping it will be good to stroll her around downtown St. Thomas too! We're still looking for a good price on some tickets to go see my Dad.

1st Road Trip

Steve had a training class at Camp Dodge in Iowa this week. So, I decided I would go see my friend Stacey who lives outside Des Moines. I only got to say for a couple of nights, but it was good to have a couple of days off work and visit with Stacey. I miss her so much!

E did great there and back! Stacey was amazed that she sleeps all night long and doesn't even make a peep!

Here are a few pics in the car on the way up and some of Emily and Reese. I didn't get any of Lexi because she was at school. :( Reese called Emily, Emmy...it was so cute!!

My Valentine!

I'm so thankful that both Steve and I have jobs, but today is one of those days I just can't stand Steve's job. He doesn't get normal days off and basically we only get to see each other on Sundays. I'm pretty used to it, but some days it gets to me! Just like tonight...I had planned to cook a good dinner, garlic and peppercorn pork tenderloin, potatoes, green beans, rolls and chocolate chip and caramel cookies. I started the tenderloin and Steve called to say he got a call. I was so mad! Not at him, I know he didn't plan for someone to break the law! And, if you know me I don't cook very often and when I do I don't want to cook just for myself!

Anyway, the good news is I got to spend Valentine's Day with Emily and my Mom this year instead of by myself. We had lunch at Camille's and then went to the mall and TJ Maxx. Gymboree is having a HUGE sale and Emmy got lots of new cute clothes. Most were under $4.99!!
Here's some pics of Emmy in her Valentine's Day outfit.

Happy Valentine's Day!

5 Months Old!

Emily is 5 months today! I was talking to Steve the other day saying I wished time would stop. We were talking about how pure and innocent she is. If you think about it, every person on earth has done something wrong in their life (lied, cheated, impure though, stole, etc) no matter how perfect they may think they are or appear to be. Except for babies!! They've never done anything bad in their whole life. I love the thought of that!

For the past week she has been sleeping a lot. She's like her Mommy in that she likes her sleep! I think she's having a growing spurt!

Likes
All foods so far (veggies, fruits and rice cereal)
Her playmat, jumparoo, swing and bouncy seat
Sucking her left thumb (still mixed feelings about this)
Her blankie, she has to have something in right hand to put over her face when she goes to sleep
Laughing
Smiling

Dislikes
She doesn't like to be left alone in a room if she's awake. Likes to be the center of attention!
Doesn't like the dark (found that out when we lost power during the ice storm)
Doesn't like loud noises. She is very jumpy and gets scared easily!

All in all she is a really happy and content baby...so far! :)

Oh yeah, and we're pretty sure she is teething. Notice she is chewing on her fingers in a lot of the recent pictures. Everything goes in that girl's mouth!

Naked Baby!

Emily had just taken a bath...look that that hair!

Little Monkey!

Emily loves her feet! This was not staged, she was really doing this. I love my little monkey!!

I Love My Daddy!

I came home from work on Tuesday and Steve had laid out 3 sleepers he bought Emily at Target. They are so cute! Here she is in one of them. What a good Daddy!

Look at my big girl sitting up!!

Rollover!

Emily has been rolling over for a while now from her stomach to her back, but I've never caught it on video until today. She has rolled over from her back to her stomach, but not as often.

Applesauce!

Still loving everything!

Peaches!

We started Emmy on fruit since she loved all the veggies. I don't think I'm going to have a picky eater, but we'll see. I wouldn't know where she got that. I'm sort of picky, not bad. But, Steve is SOOO picky. I say that's my excuse for not cooking! :)

Crafty!

I made this onesies for Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day this morning for Emily. They are just iron-ons, but I thought they were so cute. She got some leopard pants from Nana that will look really cute with the heart onesie!
